CINEMANILA PRESENTS 'THE GIRL WHO LEAPT THROUGH TIME'

High school student Makoto Konno got into an accident and suddenly discovers that she has the unique ability to traverse space and time. A little bewildered with her newfound powers, she used it to escape being tardy and to get perfect scores at exams. However, things began to turn bad as she learns how her actions can adversely affect others. Now Makoto must use all her efforts to preserve her relationships with her closest friends and in turn understand the perpetually shifting nature of human interactions.

The 9th Cinemanila International Film Festival presents CINEMANGA: Toki o Kakeru Shojo (The Girl Who Leapt Thru Time). Directed by Mamoru Hosoda (One Piece The Movie), TokiKake was the winner of Best Animated Film at the 39th Sitges International Film Festival of Catalonia and of the Animation Grand Award at the prestigious 61st Annual Mainichi Film Awards. It received the award for Animation of the Year from the 30th Japan Academy Prize and the 6th Tokyo International Anime Fair. TokiKake also won the Special Distinction for Feature Film at France’s 31st Annecy International Animated Film Festival.

TokiKake will have its Philippine premiere on August 12, 8:30 pm at Gateway Mall Cinema 1 with the special appearance of Cosplay.ph before the screening.

Cinemanila runs from August 8-19 at Gateway Cineplex 10 and August 17-19 at Boracay with almost a hundred of the best in world cinema.
