The new epic film of Thailandís Prince M.C. Chatrichalerm Yukol, King Naresuan, will officially open the 9th Cinemanila International Film Festival (CIFF). The film depicts how King Naresuan of Ayudhaya, who reigned from 1590 to 1605, struggled against and ultimately won independence from Burmese aggressors.

The CIFF is honored to have as the head of its jury for the 3rd Digital Lokal, Mr. Olivier Pere. Mr. Pere is the artistic director of the Directors Fortnight of the Cannes Film Festival.
